The “Real” Mexico! Stepping into Casa de los Amigos is a step back into Merida’s past. The home is located on one of Merida’s most lovely and authentic blocks. Here you will find many homes which have been restored to their glory days. The neighborhood is well established with restored homes giving it the appearance of its glorious, but quiet past. Santiago is one of Merida’s favorite neighborhoods with every local having a memory of visits to grandma’s house for Sunday meals or attending church or evening serenades at Santiago Plaza.
The home, located on a quiet street, has been completely remodeled to restore its ancient, crumbling walls and to add the modern touches we all expect, i.e. modern plumbing, air conditioning, a great kitchen and a lovely pool. What does remain, however, is the feel, the vibe, of the place. It is instantly welcoming and cooling. All rooms are air conditioned, but the 18″ thick walls can make that nearly unnecessary.
For lovers of outdoor spaces, this one has two! There is a wonderful covered “L” shaped patio around the pool plus a bonus secret, and quite zen-like, garden at the rear. There is a grill provided for your use on the pool patio, only steps from the kitchen and dining rooms.
Come alone or come with best friends or family. There are three separate and private bedrooms, each with a full private bath and large closet. All bedrooms are large with king-sized beds, but the primary bedroom is even larger, with a table and two chairs, a bathroom with double sinks, and a view to the pool.
